Russia’s Alpari adopts MT5 trading platform, adds MT5 accounts and new binary options trading instruments

Russian forex brokerage group Alpari said it has added the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading platform to its offering and has launched new instruments for binary options trading.

Alpari has introduced two new type of trading accounts, ecn.mt5 and pamm.ecn.mt5 accounts, which will allow its clients to use the MT5 to trade forex and spot metals using Electronic Communication Network (ECN) technology, the broker said in a notice earlier this week.

“The launch of the fifth generation of the MetaTrader trading platform was an important and much anticipated event for Alpari clients throughout the world who are looking to stay ahead of the curve in terms of new services for trading,” said Alpari CEO Boris Shilov. “Today these people have an opportunity to take advantage of an even more powerful platform with higher speed indicators and ease of use,” he added.

The MT5 platform is a successor of MetaTrader 4 (MT4), the world’s most widely-used trading platforms. Unlike MT4, however, MT5 features functions for stock market traders. It is available as a desktop and mobile application.

Meanwhile, Alpari’s clients have also gained access to a wide range of binary options instruments, the broker said in a separate notice on Wednesday. They can now trade in binary options on binary oil, shares of some of the largest international companies, and stock indices like S&P, Nikkei 225 and FTSE 100. Binary options trading is also available for forex and spot metals.

Alpari introduced binary options trading account, alpari.binary, in December 2015. These accounts can be opened in USD and EUR and can be used for trading amounts in the range EUR/USD 5-5,000. There is no minimum deposit requirement for binary options accounts and contracts. Orders have expiration period from one minute to 24 hours.

Alpari also offers several other types of forex trading accounts – nano.mt4, standard.mt4, ecn.mt4, pro.ecn.mt4, pamm.standard.mt4, pamm.ecn.mt4, and pamm.pro.ecn.mt4 using the MT4 trading platform and the just-added MT5 platform. The forex accounts minimum deposit requirements range from no deposit for nano accounts to EUR/USD 500 for pro accounts.

The Alpari group provides forex, contracts for difference (CFDs), and metals trading services. The group originated in Russia and operates in several different countries. It consists of the companies Alpari-Broker (Russia), Alpari Ltd (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), Alpari International Ltd (Mauritius), Alpari Ltd (Belize), and Alpari Forex (Russia). In January 2015, Alpari’s UK branch went insolvent after it saw exceptional volatility and extreme lack of liquidity as a result of the EUR/CHF collapse.

Companies in the group are registered and regulated in Mauritius and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It has also applied for a Russian forex broker license.
