Trust Capital Inv Review – 5 things you should know about

Rating: 1

Beware! This is an offshore broker! Your investment may be at risk.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Open trading accounts with at least two brokers.

Trust Capital Investment is a CFD  brokerage, based in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It provides its own web-based trading platform and clients must deposit at least $250 to get a taste of real-money trading. Its trading conditions are not especially favorable with a high spread of 3 and a half pips and a risky leverage of 1:200.

Trust Capital Investment regulation & safety of funds

Trust Capital Investment is owned by the company TRUST HOLDING FUNDS LTD, situated in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. However, in the terms and conditions we find another address for a company in the UK. This sort of inconsistencies raise concern about the legitimacy of the broker. Furthermore, authorities in SVG do not include forex trading in their regulatory framework. As such – potential clients of the brokerage are exposed to a number of risks.

Prestigious regulatory agencies, such as the UK’s FCA and CySec, require compliance with a number of strict rules that give significant assurance for the safety of the clients funds.

The segregation of accounts is among the rules which are especially important in the trading world, because it drastically lowers the risk of possible commingling.

Another is the participation in a compensatory scheme by which the client’s losses will be covered in the unlikely case the broker goes bankrupt or attempts to scam traders.

Trust Capital Investments deposit/withdrawal methods and fees

Potential clients of the brokerage have a wide variety of payment methods from which to choose. They may withdraw or deposit funds  via MasterCard, DowJones, WebMoney, Qiwi Wallet, Nasdaq, Visa, bank/wire transfer and more. In the Terms and Condition we find a maintenance fee of $50 for accounts that have been inactive for more than three months. There is also a transfer fee of the same amount for all bank transfers. Legitimate brokerages do not have such fees and they should be viewed as a classic trait of scammers.

How does the scam work?

One of the reasons regulation is so valued in the trading world is because scamming, unfortunately, happens quite often and the regulatory status of a brokerage acts as a sort of guarantee that traders may feel secure about investing. Nevertheless, well-informed traders should know how a typical scam works:

In most cases through clicking a tempting ad with promises for quick and easy profits, you will be redirected to a website like Bibitbot where registration will require you to give your address, email and phone number. Your personal information will be immediately shared with brokers in call centers who are just waiting for fresh leads. After a few minutes on the phone listening to the whole prepared brokers pitch , you decide to deposit some $200-250. And just like that –a 25 per cent commission gets wrested from the initial deposit by the broker on the phone.

After stinging you for a few hundred bucks, senior scammers will take you up and begin pushing you to further invest. You may even budge and continue investing.  At this point, regardless whether you are in the red or not, you probably begin to consider closing the account and getting back your money.

However, now comes the “recovery” part of the scam. After stating that you wish to withdraw your money, it will be high time for the “recovery people” to take it from here. They will begin further stalling in any way possible. The angle here is simple – remove the last guard you may have – filing a chargeback with your bank. This options expires for good after six months or more have passed since the initial deposit.

What to do if scammed?

A scam could happen to anyone, including you, and, in such a case, it would be best to know what options are still available to you. That way you’ll be certain your reaction will be adequate and on spot.

You may contact your bank or credit card provider and file a chargeback, but only within six months of the initial deposit, as was noted above.

If however you have provided the broker with your credit card details, immediately cancel your credit card.

If you have given information regarding your online banking pass – you should change it asap!

So-called “recovery agencies” should not be trusted! Such agencies target scammed and vulnerable traders in an attempt to further swindle them into giving away their money. They will require from you an “up-front payment” in order to get your money back, but no such thing will happen!

  1. I have just gone through another scam, I believe, after reading your comments above. I lost a lot, for me, money, with binary trading, and foolishly believed that Trust Capital was able to help me recover lost funds. I went through the scenario you describe. After reaching a great profit, mid 40k, suddenly with 5 BITCOIN trades, it all disappeared, while I was being advised to wait, don’t do anything yet etc. Then I was advised to access their insurance scheme which would safeguard the losses, but costing 8000 euros. And because I hadn’t come up yet, with the amount of 10,000 euros they “loaned me” to start me off (I wasn’t aware that I had to come up with amount before I could withdraw from my profit, I thought that would come out of my winnings, foolish me!) now of course the 2 staff who I dealt with are not responding to me, are supposedly in hospital, had a car accident etc. I began dealing with them early Feb this year, will try to work through charge back with my bank. Thanks for your info….

    1. Hi Sofia

I was also scammed by Trust Capittal. Would be interesting to know who the staff are you dealt with?
