ASIC blacklists a clone website and 4 offshore brokers

The financial regulator in Sydney – the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has blacklisted five more scam brokers, among which one that uses a clone website of a legit CySEC regulated broker.

ASIC has warned about a Vanuatu regulated company – UFX, which has copied the name of a legit broker, regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.

The other warnings are against RIMarkets, an offshore entity, incorporated on the Marshal Islands, Golden Day Profit which is supposedly based in Hong Kong, Liberty Global Partners and MRT Markets with a contact address on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – another favorite destination for shady financial businesses.

“Many scams come from companies based overseas”, ASIC warns in its statement, adding that “these scammers target Australians because ASIC does not have international jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute them.”
