Australian police arrrest woman for 3 million dollar Bitcoin fraud

А 52-year old woman has been arrested by the police in Australia for illegal transactions involving digital currencies for millions of dollars.

The woman in question was apprehended by the New South Wales State Police in a shopping mall in Sydney on Thursday and around $40 000 in cash and 3.8 bitcoin were confiscated by the Australian police.

It appears from the police report that the woman is involved in a crime syndicate which is engaged in unlawful exchange of digital currencies.

The investigation was put forth by the police department using cryptocurrencies which were initiated November 2018, along with a new investigation squad in the department with a focus on such crimes.

According to an official statement issued by the Detective Superintendent Matthew Craft, Cybercrime Squad Commander, ““It will be alleged as part of this investigation that the cryptocurrency wallet used by the individuals involved has transacted since 2017 over 326 Bitcoin.”
