Beware! InvestLite is an offshore broker! Your investment may be at risk.
RECOMMENDED FOREX BROKERS
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Open trading accounts with at least two brokers.
InvestLite is an offshore regulated broker, offering rather competitive trading conditions, including a leverage level of 1:500 and tight spreads. The trading instruments include Crypto, Commodities, Stocks, Indices and Metals. The trading platforms offered include Web trader and Mobile applications only. They also claim to take care of the safety of the funds of the traders, find out if it’s true in the full InvestLite review.
InvestLite REGULATION AND SAFETY OF FUNDS
InvestLite is registered in Belize, an English speaking country in Central America which gained its independence from the UK in 1981. For some time Belize was in the EU “blacklist” for tax havens, but back in 2019 the country was pulled, while still being under monitoring. The country had to undertake certain steps in order to improve its image as a financial jurisdiction, including implementation of Forex regulations, as well.
InvestLite is owned by Bayline Trading Limited, a company registered in Belize, holding a license to operate as a Forex broker.
InvestLite, however, is operated by Bayline Global World Ltd, an entity that is registered in the UK. FCA does not authorize the company itself, but that isn’t a problem, as long as it doesn’t sell Forex products and services in the territory of the UK or EU.
All the information provided by InvestLite about their legitimacy match, so we can verify that InvestLite is a legit Forex broker, which is licensed, authorized and regulated by the Belize IFSC.
Belize Forex brokers regulations include: minimum capital requirements of $500 000; clients funds must be kept in segregated accounts; the brokers should submit monthly trading reports; monthly statements have to be sent to the traders; customers service standards. Belize managed to improve significantly over the years but still cannot compare to the EU and UK in terms of customer protection. Europe is still the safest environment for retail Forex traders.
There are money protection schemes in operation, such as ICF in Cyprus and FSCS in the UK, which guarantee the deposits of the traders. Under CySEC(Cyprus) supervision you can claim up to 20 000 EUR in compensation, while in the UK under FCA you are guaranteed of even up to 85 000 GBP. Each EU member state is compelled to create and further operate similar insurance funds, which are seen to be the last resort for the traders, in case a Forex broker faces difficulties to meet its financial obligations.
InvestLite TRADING SOFTWARE
InvestLite offers Metatrader4 accounts to its customers; Metatrader5 is not available. You can choose either to download the Desktop MT4 and use the accounts made by InvestLite or to trade directly on the web distribution, which doesn’t require installation. Metatrader4 is the most popular Forex trading platform in the world, including sophisticated features such as expert advisors, automated trading and even its own marketplace where you can buy or use for free a variety of complex indicators and trading tools.
The EUR/USD spread is as low as 0.7 pips, which is a competitive difference, fairly speaking. The leverage offered is of up to 1:500, a ratio that risk-tolerant traders and investors will definitely find attractive.
1:500 is a leverage level that we do not recommend, especially to traders with little or no experience. The higher the ratio, the bigger the risk for the funds and that statement is once more validated by the data, which showed that the increased leverage levels cause much greater losses among retail Forex traders. The European financial regulators consider the higher ratios gambling, rather than trading, that’s why they launched a product intervention in the markets, imposing a leverage cap of up 1:30 for FX majors(EUR/USD; GBP/USD and more) and of up 1:2 for Crypto pairs. The UK, however, banned completely the Crypto derivatives trading, an order that will come in effect in the spring of 2021.
InvestLite DEPOSIT/WITHDRAW METHODS AND FEES
No minimum initial amount specified, which is a significant downside. The true Forex brokers are supposed to always clarify such an important matter for the traders. The funding methods are Credit/Debit cards, Vpay, Wire Transfers, Skrill and Neteller. No deposit fees specified.
The minimum withdrawal amount is not specified as well, and no fees are usually applicable. However, a withdrawal fee of 50 EUR will be deducted in case there is little or no trading activity in the client’s account, which doesn’t seem like a pretty fair condition.
The dormant account policy is probably the most unfair that we’ve seen till now. Even scam Forex brokers and websites don’t include such an unfair clause! After 61 days of inactivity a fee of 160 EUR, or the equivalent in other currency, will be imposed. Over 91 days of inactivity, however, the charge will be 120 EUR or the equivalent. InvestLite doesn’t comprehensively explain the calculation of the fees, but 160 EUR after 2 months of inactivity is way too much, no EU or UK Forex broker is going to pillage your account so ruthlessly. There are some companies that will not even charge you a dime for being inactive, after a prolonged period of time you should simply contact the customer service to reactivate the trading account!
No bonuses or other trading incentives offered at the moment, but the company reserves the right to launch bonus campaigns in the future.
A partnership program is introduced with two types of revenue plans included- Conversion and Valued Partner.
We recommend that you should choose CySEC or FCA regulated Forex broker. Belize Forex brokers lack in terms of customer protection, as there is no negative balance protection rule and predefined Stop-out levels. In times of higher volatility, your funds will be vulnerable if you have trades opened, especially if you are using higher levels of leverage. In the end, you might end up being indebted, owing money to the broker, which is a truly unpleasant experience.
HOW DOES THE SCAM WORK
A group of scammers usually operates many different scam brokers, scam websites and call centres. Sometimes they will simply rely on the quantity; they will publish tens or hundreds of websites and will just wait for traders and investors with little or no experience to bite. Nowadays, it’s very cheap to create one, and it looks like a profitable strategy, as they carry on doing it.
Fraudsters are working in social media nowadays, an increasing number of scammers is approaching people on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, you name it. They will create pages showing lush lifestyle, cars, yachts, celebrities etc. and will insist that you will make even more money if you click on the like button. Often the scammers will give free advice or a tryout, and before you know it, they will be asking for your money upon subscription. You will see pictures showing profits of tens of thousands of dollars, and if you have no FX experience, you might easily believe them.
WHAT TO DO WHEN SCAMMED
No one is immune to scam; anyone can fall into the trap. Scammers are constantly looking for new and different ways to scam consumers. What you need to do first, in case you got scammed, is to protect yourself from further risks. Contact your bank and explain to them your situation, they will give you important instructions to follow and will help you, if possible, recover your money.
Report what happened to you, file a complaint, contact the financial regulator, contact other government institutions related to trading and investing. Seek help actively!
Share online your experience; it is important to protect others, as well. Be responsible!
