Local reports in South Korea recently revealed an odd case of a near self-combustion that could have happened in the offices of local cryptocurrency exchange. More specifically, South Korea’s Upbi customer service center was the place where a local man threatened to set him self on fire. iNews24 and SBS were first to report that the unnamed individual has been taken into custody and was thereupon charged with attempted arson.
The staff was quick to react after witnessing the frightening scene of a man pouring flammable liquid over his head and body. Witnesses further suggest that a lighter was being held above his head, shouting threats of self-combustion.
The man was immediately taken into custody at the local Seoul Suseo Police Station. For now, there ahs been no information on the motives of the man.
iNews24 had interviewed a police official about the matter. This is what the officer told the news outlet,
“We found out that some of the flammable substances that were sprayed on the floor at the scene were splashed on the body, but not directly…We plan to investigate the detailed motive and identity,”
However, mixed reports oni the issue complicate the matters, as certain witnesses claim slightly different stories.
