Revolut Expands Services to Ten Additional EU Nations

This Tuesday Revolut announced that it will be expanding its services to ten more EU countries: Luxembourg, Netherlands, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, and Finland. Currently, Revolut is offering services with a Lithuanian-based license.

With these ten new jurisdictions, the fintech firm is offering banking services in all of the European Economic Areas (EEA), except for Norway. Ireland, and Liechtenstein.

Joe Heneghan, CEO of Revolut, commented on the latest development that the new European markets in which his firm has launched will give users “an even greater level of security and confidence… and will enable us to launch a host of new products and services in the near future,”

Even with this massive expansion, Revolut still remains a challenger bank (recently launched retail banks. small in size, directly competing with established banks in Britain) in its home country. The retail institution is expecting to be made into an official banking entity as it has applied for a British banking license.

Currently, Revolut is offering a €100,000 deposit protection to customers, blowing away any sort of competition. Moreover, with 18 million customers worldwide, Revolut has been dubbed one of the most successful fintech startups in history. Currently, it is expanding in the markets of the US, Singapore, and Japan.
