80 New International Companies to be Added to Moscow Exchange

The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) will be including 80 new international companies in its exchange platform. Companies such as Vimeo and Crocs will officially be included in the repertoire as of 1st February.

MOEX revealed that all shares offered to trade on its platforms will be available to institutional as well as retail investors native to Russian and other countries. International and local investors alike will be able to have access and, as a result, purchase shares of global firms.

Once the new shares are officially added, the total number of foreign companies’ stocks will increase to 680. Other available assets to be traded with include derivatives, bonds, FX, and equities.

The exchange revealed an integral aspect of its operations to be to allow securities from international companies to be used as collateral for trades made on the exchange. These operations will be processed through the National Clearing Centre (NCC). This will greatly facilitate users funding their operations on the exchange.

The Moscow Exchange is currently in the middle of a grand expansion campaign, in which the main goal is to provide clients with wider market opportunities and advantages. The exchange has seen great shifts in development strategies, and as a result, MOEX has evolved beyond what you might call the standard exchange.
