Beware! Akselinvest is an offshore broker! Your investment may be at risk.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Open trading accounts with at least two brokers.

Akselinvest assures us that it represents a licensed and trustworthy forex broker. But fact checking reveals that this is not true at all. This unregulated website aims to scam inexperienced people out of their money.

In this review, we will show you the evidence that this is the case and point you to more credible financial service providers.

The most important information about a financial services provider is its regulatory status. Licensed brokers provide detailed information about which company runs them, where it is based, which jurisdictions it is authorised in and which regulatory bodies oversee its activities.

Akselinvest does not provide a contact address. According to the homepage of the website, the owner company is called Akselinvest Llc. We found no evidence that such a legal entity actually exists.

There is a link on the website to a purported licence that takes you to the details of the Norwegian company Aksel Invest As in the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation database.

Firstly, we have no evidence that this company has any connection with the Akselinvest website. Second, such registration does not amount to a forex broker licence.

The text of the Terms and Conditions refers to the law of Poland:

But Akselinvestis not among the authorised brokers in either Norway or Poland. The financial regulators of two other European countries, France and Russia, have blacklisted Akselinvest:

Before investing your money in financial instruments, it is imperative to make sure you do so through a licensed intermediary and not one of the many scammers lurking online.

You should only trust legitimate brokers operating in one of the established financial centres like the UK, EU, USA or Australia. There, the activities of brokers are controlled by powerful regulatory bodies such as UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in US or Australian Securities and Exchanges Commission (ASIC). Clients of these brokers receive protections such as negative balance protection and segregation of the client’s funds from the broker’s funds.

In the EU and the UK, brokers must also participate in guarantee schemes that cover a certain amount of the trader’s investment if the broker becomes insolvent. These guarantees amount to up to 20 000 EUR in the EU and 85 000 GBP in the UK. However, the likelihood of such a bankruptcy is low because regulators also have significant net capital requirements that companies must maintain – EUR 730 000 in UK and Cyprus, AUD 1000 000 in Australia and at least 20 million USD in the United States.

Akselinvest Trading software

Akselinvest implements a fairly basic web-based trading platform. Here’s what it looks like:

It should be noted that the presence of some kind of trading software is no guarantee that this is a genuine broker. Financial scammers often use rigged trading platforms to fool their victims that their money is actually being invested. However, this trading is entirely fictitious and the money goes directly into the scammers’ pockets.

Legitimate brokers offer clients a wide selection of trading software, including desktop, mobile apps and web-based platforms. The most widely used platforms in the industry are MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). These platforms have established themselves as industry standard because they offer a wide range of features, including a variety of options for customization, multiple account usage, designing and implementing custom scripts for automated trading and backtesting trade strategies.

Akselinvest Trading instruments

Akselinvest  theoretically offers trading in currency pairs, cryptocurrencies, stocks, indices and commodities. But we have no reason to believe this trading is real.

Akselinvest Spreads and cost of trading

Spread EURUSD30.611.1
Spread GBPUSD31.31.21.4
Spread USDJPY31.31.21.4

In the trading platform we see a spread of 3 pips. This level is double the industry average and is very unprofitable for the trader.

Akselinvest Maximum leverage

EU regulated brokers30:15:12:110:110:1
AU regulated brokers30:15:12:110:110:1
US regulated brokers50:1

Akselinvest offers a leverage of 1:100, which is also proof that this is not a regulated forex broker.Regulated brokers do not offer such levels to retail traders as trading with high leverage carries risks of sudden and excessive losses.

Another such piece of evidence is the claim that Akselinvest offers bonuses. Regulated brokers are prohibited from offering bonuses and promotions. Scammers often use promises of supposedly generous bonuses to tie their potential victims to extortionate terms

If you are nevertheless willing to take the risk of high-leverage trading and want to take advantage of bonuses, promotions and prize games, the best option is to use the services of offshore brokers operating under an established brand.

Akselinvest Deposit and withdrawal methods

Deposit timeWithdrawal timePrice

Crypto24 hours24 hoursFee depends on crypto

The homepage of the website claims that Akselinvest allows deposits with credit cards and bank transfer, but in the deposit menu itself we see only cryptocurrencies.

Scammers prefer cryptocurrencies because these transactions are not subject to refunds. While there are some legitimate brokers that accept digital currencies like Bitcoin, they do so alongside other transparent payment methods such as credit/debit card, bank transfer or popular e-wallets like PayPal, Neteller or Skrill.

Akselinvest Minimum deposit

Minimum deposit$250$5$10$5

Akselinvest specifies a minimum deposit of 250 USD, which is the industry standard. But this means that for the same amount you could open a trading account with an established and duly licensed forex broker. Some of the leading brands in the industry offer Micro and Cent accounts with a very low entry threshold that are suitable for novice investors.

In the text of the  Terms and Conditions we find a typical scammer’s catch – if the account has received a bonus it can withdraw funds only after it has met high requirements for minimum traded volume of 25 times the Bonus amount plus the deposit.
